• Bgwah & Meeker have defeated former President Afleitch with a write-in running mate in the October 2008 Presidential Election.

• In the August 2008 Senate Election, elected or re-elected were DownWithTheLeft (RPP), Jas (Ind), Al (SDP), Sensei (NLC), and CultureKing (JCP).

• Bacon King has been elected as the Southeast Regional Senator following a Court ordered Special Election as a result of Sam Spade v. Department of Forum Affairs. Sam Spade declined to run in the election triggered by his lawsuit. Instead he was appointed and confirmed to the Supreme Court following the resignation of Ernest.

• Secretary of Forum Affairs Mr. Moderate (NLC-MA) and VP Ebowed (JCP-OR) have been elected President and Vice President of Atlasia in the June 2008 Presidential Election. In the Senate Election, Verily (NLC-NH) was re-elected Northeast Senator, Meeker (AUB-VA) was re-elected Senator in the Mideast, and Lewis Trondheim was elected to the Senate in an open seat in the Midwest. The Pacific and Southeast Senate races wound up tied and are headed to runoffs, but the results are currently being challenged in court by a newly re-registered Sam Spade.

• Senator Sam Spade (SSP-TX) has tendered his deregistration, causing a vacancy in the Southeast Senate seat.

This Month in Atlasia's Past—August

In 2004, John F. Kennedy begins his tenure as President of Atlasia.

In 2005, the Eighth Senate passed the Affirmative Action Act, which ended race-based hiring decisions for federal jobs.

In 2006, Dr. Cynic bested Bullmoose88 5 votes to 3 in the First District Senate race; Virginian87 beat Ernest by a vote of 4–3 in the District 2 Senate race; Democratic Hawk was re-elected without opposition in the Third District Senate race; Speed of Sound defeated Clay by a vote of 5 to 3 in the second round in the District 4 Senate race (BRTD was eliminated in the first round with one vote); and BrandonW was elected without opposition in the Fifth District Senate race.

In 2006, the Fourteenth Senate passed the Alcohol Reform Act, effectively lowering the drinking age in Atlasia to 18 in all federal territories.
