The Left Coast Looney Commies put doctrinaire Marxist Mao into the White House.

Nobody else in the country votes.

Then Joe has a hit job done on Mao, siezing power for himself, following which Ronnie comes back from the dead, nukes all Commies once and for all, and hands over the levers of power to Orrin Hatch, bestowing upon him the title President For Life.

Sadly for Hatch, this is probably the most realistic scenario he has for becoming president.

Mao (R) wins most non-racist areas due to political correctness. The South goes for Stalin (D). In the debates, no-one really understands what the hell they are going on about and thus, votes are widely distributed. In a bizarre twist of fate, Mao wins with 329 electoral votes and 329 in the popular vote, compared to Stalin's 130 popular votes and 209 electoral votes.
