I would guess that some of those questions are aids for assessing approval ratings, since the ratings are bizarre. Bush stays almost exactly the same (in limbo fairly below Clinton/Reagan but well above Carter/Bush Sr.) and Kerry's approval and disapproval both drop. I guess if people start to regret one of these guys being the nominee, then the bottom really is falling out.

Part of this Kerry all of a sudden being unknown again (well, among 15-20%) might have to do with the fact that he has not yet put forth any specifics whatsoever. Maybe they have forgotten about him! That's probably what he's hoping for and it might be because of the recent bio ads. Who else could erase 3.5+ months of a campaign and just start over?
