So this is an idea that I had once before. However this time I plan on living it out. Instead of writing two highly detailed timelines at the same time, I'll have you guys write it lol. So here is the initial concept: JFK Lives!

Through the rest of 1963 and 1964, President Kennedy pushes through a Civil Rights Bill similar to  the one in OTL. However his focus remains on foreign policy and along with Secretary McNamara and General Maxwell Taylor devises a series of benchmarks that the South Vietnamese government would have to meet for continued United States support. He devotes much of 1964 to campaigning for reelection, even though polls show that he is still very popular and that he will likely win reelection. The major event of the campaign is that Kennedy drops Vice-President Lyndon Johnson in favor of Kennedy ally George Smathers. On the Republican side, Goldwater still narrowly defeats Rockefeller in California and goes on to win the GOP nomination. He selects moderate Pennsylvania Governor William Scranton as his running-mate.

So who wins, and who would you support?

Of course JFK wins, he had 70% approval when he was assassinated.

My view of the map:

JFK probably still wins, though nowhere near the margins of the LBJ landslide.

277-261

If Goldwater could just flip Wisconsin, California, Illinois, or Washington, all of which Kennedy lost in 60, he could pull off an upset though. (Or if Scranton helps flip Pennsylvania)

That was in November 1963 genius.
You really think he would have the same poll numbers for an entire year?

Yeah, actually Kennedy's approval rating was about 58% when he was assassinated, and it had been on a downward trend.

Well, genius, his approval rating only dropped below 60% once before he was assassinated.

I'm not sure what a bummber is either, but...
