The following is a listing of active political parties that I have found with Presidential candidates in play.
Naturally we have the two dominant ones: Democratic Party Republican Party
Then we have the growing "third parties": Constitution Party (According to Stateline.org article on 6/2/04, they are on 16 ballots, Ballot Access News says 17[/b]) Green Party (According to Stateline.org article on 6/2/04, they are on 16 ballots, Ballot Access News says 23[/b]) Libertarian Party (27 states - Ballot Access News[/b]) Populist Party (Nader's party, with Jan Pierce as VP.[/b]) Reform Party (According to Stateline.org article on 6/2/04, they are on 7 ballots[/b])
And then a handful of minor parties: American Party Peace and Freedom Party Personal Choice Party (has a female porn star running as VP) Prohibition Party (they're still around?) Socialist Party USA Socialist Equality Party Socialist Workers Party (Union Yes? hahaha) Veterans Party (Trying to get Schwartzkopf as the Presidential candidate[/b]) Workers World Party
What I am interested in, is how many states are these parties on the ballots for November? It would be interesting to identify which parties are truly serious about placing a person in the Presidential seat, and whom is just out to make a name for themselves or get their cause known.
