Interesting little figure from Japan.
Anti 2nd Sino Japanese War conservative with liberal tendencies who was expelled from the legislature but somehow got reelected in early 1942  during the peak of Japanese war fervor in his rural district. Interesting he was allowed to run in the first place even if the legislature didn't have much power by this point .

His opposition to the war came a lot from the harm it caused to the petit bourgeoise but also the control the military gained over the constitution. He wasn't a pacificist and he said he still supported the 1st Sino Japanese War/Russo Japanese War.

Reading through his speech I think its possible this what the true Russian opposition may look like if they exist. A lot of the points are quite similar, 100k dead, economy being shifted to inefficient war goals, confusing war goals

He's quite a historical figure. You could say he won out in the end.
