I think Melník endorsed Radicova. That's quite a surprise, considering that Melník's authoritarian bastards are the third party in the ruling coalition.

Gasparovic probably wins something like 52-48 or 53-47. Sadly. Slovakia loves electing beyond awful governments.

Yeah, very likely now. But where are the votes from ? Is Bratislava still left to count ?

Or the Hungarian areas. If the Hungarian areas are in, then Gasparovic's current landslide will keep up. If not, his vote will go down a bit.

Slovakia sucks. Like Oklahoma.

Too bad for Austria-Hungary.

Radicova campaigned like Obama, using "Yes we can" all the time, calling for Change and producing videos like the "Yes we can"-Song. Even her homepage looks like Obama's White House homepage like I said before. Maybe European politicians shouldn't copy-cat Obama.

Radicova wouldn't be the first Obama-wanna-be to go down. Look at Veltroni in Italy or Mario Canori and the FPÖ in Carinthia, who got completely destroyed in the Carinthia state elections.

Veltroni never had anything close to Obama's charisma. He was as charismatic as a coffee table.

It will be interesting to see if Gasparovic will win Bratislava in the second round.
But probably he won't ...
Gašparovič will not win Bratislava in the runoff.

He didn't. He got only 35% in the capital.

...

Preliminary Final Result:

Ivan Gašparovič: 1.234.787 votes (55.53%)
Iveta Radičová: 988.808 votes (44.47%)

Turnout: 51.67%

Gašparovič won the areas won by Meciar in 2004 massively and lost the areas he won in 2004 just because he was the least-worst or least-fascist candidate.

Hungarians are cool. Long live Greater Hungary!
