And why is the Republican Vice Presidential candidate such a good friend of a convicted felon?

Huzzah!

I cannot say I'm surprised with the news. There is no chance in hell that Senator Ted Stevens will win reelection now. We know how Alaskans feel about corruption and it was evident in the 2006 Gubernatorial Election where the now infamous Sarah Palin was elected Governor campaigning against that very issue. Congratulations Senator Begich Smiley.

Why are none of the media outlets talking about this?  I've watched FOX, MSNBC, and CNN and haven't heard anything.

He could be expelled from the senate before the end of this session.

I sure would have voted guilty after listening to Steven's ridiculous story about borrowing a chair for 9 years, and then agreeing to store it or something, and then it was a quid pro quo for furniture that was stolen, except that Steven's didn't report the theft. The guy needs to be put away for the rest of his miserable life. He is a waste of space.

Thank goodness he'll only be senator for 6 short years.

Ideally, they should have started the process earlier this afternoon.

If it were any of the other 49 states, I'd put this race as Safe Dem.  Alaska...Likely Dem.

You hope it is so. Alaska's previous willingness to vote for a "socialist" like Obama should give you pause. Palin of course ruined everything.

Thank goodness he'll only be senator for 6 short years.

What do you expect from a politician who endorses Russian penetration?
