Just a reminder: there is no split voting in this round, it was one of a series of unusual rounds that will take place during this, the first section of World Leaders Survivor. Round Nine is a 'normal' round, and round 10 will be an unusual round because immunity will be given to the leaders with the most total votes over all rounds who have not been eliminated. After that, expect a few normal rounds again.

The idea of it was to force some of these perennial high vote getters out, and if that was not done, to punish you guys for not doing it Wink

(the idea was basically as BRTD suggested: to get people to re-examine all the people on the lists rather than automatically voting for the same person as the last 9 rounds)

I should also note that rounds 11 and 12 will be normal rounds, and rounds thirteen and fourteen will be combined (two votes, two leaders eliminated for each group)

I've had to break two ties this round; one was an easy choice, the other far more difficult. My tie-breaking half votes are for Rene Preval of Haiti and Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Territories.

I presume the hard choice was booting Abbas?

That would be telling Smiley

I will say this: three of the four I wouldn't have voted for, one I was happy to.

I have broken a tie between Uribe and dos Santos, again favouring Uribe in a tiebreak, but with good reasons.

They will be kept secret, but i'll give you a general clue as to how I vote in tiebreaks: how much better or worse has the leader made the lives of the poeple of their country? is the first question I ask. I ask many others, but that is the first one.

At the end of every stage there will be a full review. Kind of a mix of both sentiments.

In the interests of full disclosure, I influenced one of the votes, but not in a way that directly affected a close race.

Also, I broke a tie, eliminating Singapore's Lee Hsieng Loong.

Round 18 will be immunity round, with the first poster to claim immunity for their preffered leader in each group giving that leader a pass through to round 19.

Here's a map of the countries eliminated in the first 15 rounds:

The forum doesn't seem to like African and Asian leaders.

Interesting, I was thinking of doing something like that, and also including a colour for countries that have at least one vote. Thanks, GMantis

You're welcome! Unfortunately, the map doesn't show a lot of small countries - for example, Fiji is marked with a dot.

Round 18 will be immunity round, with the first poster to claim immunity for their preffered leader in each round giving that leader a pass through to round 19.
You mean each group?

I do. Not going well tonight Tongue

There are just a handful of rounds left (6 including round twenty) before the regrouping. There will be one more immunity, with the second highest vote getters in each group in round twenty four getting a free pass for round 25. There is also one more mucking around with the format round, round 21, which will be similar to an earlier round in which you could vote 1 full vote for 1 leader, or two half votes for two leaders.
