I definitely think it’s possible that if Trump loses, we could see a scenario where Pence runs again in 2028 and quite possible Trump runs again in 2028 against Pence.

No. His base is, the no trumper christian right? Not a winning game, and they will probably go with Haley or another better polling candidate.
Also, his catholic evangelical random personal faith could alineate some in that base.

Maybe he’ll run again in 2028 but he’ll be in a similar position to where Jim Gilmore was in 2016
