The difference between the Upper and Deep South is interesting, though usual comments of concern about exit poll details apply...

True, especially since "evangelical" is self-determined. Obviously there must not be a lot of non-evangelical whites in AR, TN, or WV.

The home state effect can clearly be seen in the minority vote in AZ. It was the only state where McCain did reasonably well with Hispanics. Did he do better than average with blacks too (as in actually getting above say 5 percent of the vote)?

Alaska to a lesser extent may be a home state effect for Palin also, plus the fact that the minorities there are Native Americans.
