Bob Avakian is the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party. So he would not lynch you actually hugh. He gets my vote especially due to his staunch opposition to the current Chinese regime.

Why, because they are finally emerging from the hell that is communism?

Shinui

I imagine you must hate Lula da Silva, huh? Personally though I love the guy.

You don't have to live with him. He raises taxes and says he's helping the poor, but he's an obvious liar, he hasn't done anything. We will get rid of him soon. The only reason he's in office is because he had zero competition in the last election.

As Republicans you could fit into several parties. If you are a right-leaning Libertarian you would go in Partido da Frente Liberal. If you are very right wing all-around you would be in Partido Progressista. If you are a libertarian you would go in Partido Liberal. You could also go into the centrist party Partido do Movimento Democrático Brasileiro.

16  General Politics / International General Discussion / Re: Do you support Ibaretxe's plan of Basque secession? on: January 14, 2005, 06:22:49 pm
Yes. However, someone has to control the ETA.

ETA would't have a point after independence.

He probably means they shouldn't get a share of the government.

I have two brothers. One doesn't care about politics, the other one is only three, so he doesn't know anything about government.

Have you been to Brasil, or did you meet them in the United States?
22  Forum Community / Forum Community / Re: All about yourself! on: October 17, 2004, 04:12:50 pm
Wow, it says over 20,000 people immigrated here. It doesn't say where thier settlement is though.

Carioca,

Do you know of or know any Brazilian Confederatos?

If you mean what I think you mean, then no I don't.

Why do you ask?

After the American civil war thousands of southerners moved to Brazil. Their descendents still live there today in Brazil.

That's cool. They probably moved to São Paulo or the far south, and that's why I haven't met any. We have a lot more immigrant groups than people think.

25  General Politics / U.S. General Discussion / The Surfer Vote on: October 17, 2004, 03:52:12 pm
I was just on Transworld SURF Magazine's website. There is a poll asking which candidate would be a better president for surfers.

Here are the results:

-John Kerry 37.4%
-George Bush 49.5%
-Ralph Nadar 3.6%
-I don't give a damn! 8.5%

I was surprised that Bush is winning by a large marigin.

Any other conservative surfers out there?
