Would it be too big a stretch to say Labour not pushing the Tories too hard + Labour crapout in Scotland equals at least a push on the night for the Conservatives? Just jumping in here, obviously looks like the Tories hanging tough while Labour pummels the LibDems, is that the developing story?
Seems to be the main narrative...a side narrative is that the Tories and Labour are arguing over a shifting set of goal posts of Labour gains in order to say whether Labour succeeded tonight. In other news, the world is round.

Just FYI, a week ago one of the nice old GOP ladies I know FB invited me to the group "Sarah Palin/Michelle Bachmann 2010 GOP Dream Ticket" I haven't really slept since then...

zzzzZZZZZZzzzzz.....
Every moment that Labour isn't taking the lead in the polls or looking like the next gov't will add to the apprehension that they should have picked David.
That's true. This was just too close. It doesn't definitely answer the left-right question in Labour; it doesn't give Ed a clear mandate as he won on second and third preferences. We've got to focus on 2015; it would be appreciated if briefings against Ed didn't start just yet. Is David Miliband his younger brother's heir apparent? Yes, there will be separate courts, Kings John and Richard will both be getting pledges of allegiance from the same people. I can already see Balls and D. Mili meeting this week to start the skeleton of the next cabal when and if E. Mili fails.
