I'm by no means a regular. I haven't been in several years, and when I was, we were on opposing sides. But when reading your platform, Marokai, I realized that that these are policies that would bring me back into the game. You have my full support.
Hey NiK! Hey Duke, how've you been? Congratulations on being on yet another presidential ticket!

I know there's quite a few Tarantino fans here. Is anyone else excited for the movie? It's currently doing much better than I expected (98% on RT), so my anticipation just keeps building and building.

I lol'd. Joe's comment was pretty funny.
We are in no position to help you, this is just one of those cases where you should admit (or, rather, confirm) your wrongdoing and take the punishment. Show them the pictures you took, tell them that you intended it to be a joke, and just let it fade away. Making a big issue out of it won't help yourself.
Yeah, that's probably the best idea. I mean, worst case scenario, they throw out your test score, give you failing marks, and you have to retake this school year. Uh... no. That's an awfully slippery slope there. I'm not familiar with Pennsylvania, but just because he did something stupid on a standardized test doesn't mean they are going to fail him. They'll let him off with a warning. Trust me, I know people who have done similarly stupid (or even worse) things, and they got off. It wouldn't have been easier to deny it, though. The teacher overheard him. How's he supposed to lie? Say that he was just bragging and showing off, and that he was really lying through his teeth? They would think way worse of him. No, come clean. It would speak better of his personal character. This sort of stuff is forgivable. The alternatives are not.

Yes, actually. My family owns a house (that has been with us for generations) that is presumably haunted, as caregivers (on different occasions through the years) have packed up and left out of fear. I have several relatives that have died in that house, which would be the probable cause. I've had other "encounters," as well. So yes, I believe in ghosts or spirits.

I'm from Alameda County, and I'd have to agree that it's similar to a lot of other counties in the bay area. Plenty of whites vote Democrat, more then Asians at times. Nothing that special, there are probably counties around other urban centers that are mainly white and vote Democratic. Just my 2 cents. (First post!)
Welcome to the forum. Buckle up. Don't scare our new posters, Marokai... This is actually a friend of mine from real life. So play nice, guys...

The fact that people bash Twilight so much is really funny. It's almost an instinct. While I'm no fan (have read the first two books, though), it is such overkill. It's basically "I'VE NEVER READ TWILIGHT BUT OTHERS DON'T LIKE IT SO I HATE IT TOO!!!" *sigh* Are there far better books? Yes. Far better movies? Uh-huh. But Twilight wasn't created to be a masterpiece, just (harmless and somewhat bizarre) fun. And it should be judged on those merits. The bashing Twilight receives is proportional to the undue praise and adulation it receives from its target audience. As you say, it's not a masterpiece, yet its fan base often acts as if it is. You say it should be judged on its merits, and so if a bunch of screaming teenage girls proclaim to the world that Twilight is awesome others are going to point out the flaws. Also, the fact that Barnes & Noble has a section purely dedicated to "Teen Paranormal Romance" just irks me, though I suppose I should be grateful they separate it from the regular scifi section. Eh, the Twilight craze reached its peak in 2008/early 2009 and has since rapidly declined. I'vr never, ever heard anyone claim it was a fantastic, once-in-a-generation novel. That it is enjoyable? Yes. That they love (and love to hate) the characters? Yes. I don't know what fans you are meeting, but I don't think I've ever met a smug, condescending fan. I'm not denying that they may exist, but they can't be that common. That's not the case with the series' detractors, though. I've seen mean-spirited, harsh, and blatant personal attacks hurled toward fans. Parodies are fine, sure, but the lengths that some people go to absurd. And you can't deny that "Twilight hate" is a bit of bandwagon. When people who haven't ever read the books or seen the movies bash it incessantly, it's bandwagoning. It's almost like the Justin Bieber-hate (which is far, far worse; you may not like the kid as a singer, but you can't deny that he has musical talent). There are definitely far better books out there. Like I said, I'm no fan. But, c'mon. Yeah, but "Teen Paranormal Romance" is just a popular fad right now. That section probably won't exist in a decade.
