I only met one so far.  Actually I may know more, but there's only one person who mentioned specifically, and without prior consultation or questioning, that she was going to do the tea party thing.  And she's kinda weird.  It's a small sample size, but it's the only sample I have, so I'll go with "they're funny."

It sort of reminds me of those people about four or five years ago who refused to pay their taxes because they were protesting "Mister Bush's War."  Of course, I had a larger sample size back then.  And this new anti-Obama tax-evasion crowd fancies itself ideologically different than the anti-Bush tax-evasion crowd, but they seem no more or no less weird.  They're equally mad.  Or equally ignorant.  (On some level Obebo's right about this.)

I guess it's a sort of catharsis for the masses, however futile.  And short-term release valves are probably a good thing in general, since the alternatives historically have involved either guillotines, flaming cities, tarring, feathering, or in some cases costly, demoralizing civil wars.
