By earliest I mean the one who served before all others. In your case that must be Ford.

Also, I haven't meant oldest, which would be Reagan.

There was only one execution in 1981? I guess I know now the answer if I bother to do this is Indiana, but that was the ONLY one in 1981. Wow.

The execution were not really as frequent until the mid 1980s
