I would not want to replace Bush now, but if I had to replace Bush, these would be the people on my list:

Rudy Giuliani

Elizabeth Dole

Colin Powell

Tom Ridge

Jeb Bush

Zell Miller

I'll think of some others here in a bit.

No on Liddy and Zell and Ridge and Jeb. I'd forgotten Powell. He'd be alright.

I am satisfied with President Bush, but if I were to replace him, I would vote for the governor of my state, Tim Pawlenty.  Very common sense, fiscal conservative.

Jacob, head on over the the fantasy forum when you get 11 more posts and register to vote. Smiley

State's rights, I will check it out.  I am somewhat new here and am still getting used to the site.  Thanks.

If I were to pick a candidate for the Republicans it'd be someone who would be leaning towards me, obviously.  Ron Paul is pretty cool, I also find Alan Keyes will go against the GOP mainline on issues like torture, civil liberties and detainees, plus he's really great against taxes and spending and he's pro-life.  The problem is Keyes is part of a religious community I wouldn't have much fun being associated with.

It'd be cool if they could run a moderate libertarian, somebody who will cut taxes and spending and start scaling back social programs and freeze government hiring.

I used to be Republican, though on the cultural/social issues I am very conservaqtive, and even on fiscal issues I still believe in responsibility.

While the cheap rehtoric from Bush may sound like he is a Christian fundamentalist, it is still just empty, worthless rhetoric. It seems just Iraq and top heavy tax cuts are the only thing on his radar screen.

In terms of a smaller govrenment and fiscal restraint, Sen. McCain would have been a better choice for president. In terms of moral positions, I have like others on this thread for Alan Keyes. I think former WI gob Thompson wouled have been a better canidate than Bush as well.

Bush ran as Reagan, but he governs like LBJ.

What about Paul Bremmer?  Anyone know if he is Republican?  I think he'd be the most qualified person once Bush goes.

Paul bremer is a ing idiot.  The military guys in Iraq joke that CPA stands for "Can't Provide Anything".  He is state Department empty suit who sold out our allies in Iraq like Ahmed Chalabi and Ali Sistani, and then does favors for scum like Jassim Saleh.

It was Bremer who decided that the US would not hand sovereignty over to the Irawis until June 30, 2004, while in Afghanistan it was done almost immediately after the war.  It was Bremer who put together the now largely discredited Iraqi Governing Council.  There is reason Bremer is being sent home, and John Negroponte is being put in his place.

I would not want to replace Bush now, but if I had to replace Bush, these would be the people on my list:

Rudy Giuliani

Elizabeth Dole

Colin Powell

Tom Ridge

Jeb Bush

Zell Miller

I'll think of some others here in a bit.

Of all those people, only Giuliani is made of the right stuff.  Dole is a perfectly good Senator, so is Miller.  Jeb is a sub-par governor.  You know what I think of Ridge.  Colin Powell is barely adequate as Secretary of State.

Jeb is Sub Par? Yeah right, he's far better then your fake Republican of a governer named Arnold. Arnold is a joke.

Jeb is a very average governor.  He has a crummy child-welfatre system that loses kids.  He benefits from having a state that is hard to mess up.

Arnold is a true Godlike governor.  In less than ayear, he has essentially fixed the budget and worker's compensation and the Indian gaming situation.

The DCF has pretty much been gutted and rebuilt since that problem a few years back. You forget such programs like A+ and FCAT which have been resounding successes.

To this question yes I would like another Republican... But there is only one other person I'd want.

McCain: I'll vote for him for any other office other then President. He'd be like Zach Taylor

Powell: I like him a lot if he was President he'd be like and Eisenhower. But in the worlds current state he's too much of a relunctant warrior for the job.

Scwarzenegger:A great guy and nice... maybe too nice I'm not sure he'd strike fear into the hearts of our enemies. And I don't think I can give an example of a President thats like him. Maybe Kennedy?

and then we have my choice... The person who I'd love to see leading this country.

(barrows a picture from another post)

Rudy Giuliani!

He's a moderate that led New York with an Iron Fist, cleaned up the trash and improved the city, he has charisma, and he comes off as intelligent. I feel that he'd put fear in the hearts of our enemies and make the American people feel some what at ease.

If I can't have him as President we should just keep W.

I don't trust Rudy with civil liberties or the budget.  I don't know that he'd violate them, but he seems like the wrong kind of moderate from where I'm sitting.  I also found his adultery unsettling.

I'm gonna stick with Jesse ventura, maybe.  Awfully hard to find any moderate libertarians outside the LP who aren't populist or authoritarian on other issues.

I understand 100%.

Ventura would be an interesting President.... I'm not sure what all his stances are but he seems decent.

HE is socially liberal and economically moderate.  He is a libertarian. (gasp!)
