2024 is a leap year. Leap year calendars match every 28 years.

The last time the calendar matched was 1996, and that year the incumbent (Democrat) won.

Before that was 1968, and the challenger (Republican) won.

Before that was 1940, and the incumbent (Democrat) won

Before that was 1912, and the challenger won.

Edit, I agree that calendars are interesting.

The next identical map is 2052 and if I am alive I will be 96.

OK, the incumbent party hasn’t lost an election in a year ending in a “4” since 1884.

1880 was the most interesting election, because it was the closest popular vote..

2024 is a leap year. Leap year calendars match every 28 years.

This is accurate.

My birthday, here in 2024, is on a Friday.

Previous year my birthday was on a Friday, in what was also a leap year, was in 1996.

Next year my birthday will be on a Friday, in what will also be a leap year, is in 2052.

Same thing for everyone else—with regard for the day of the week of one’s birthday—as specially recurring in leap years.

This is not making a statement to say whether or not a person should find this interesting.

An interesting bit: continuing the 28-year cycle, it will be also be on a Friday in 2080.  But (this is the interesting part, at least for us calendar geeks) it will NOT be true 28 years later, in 2108 -- it will be on a Thursday instead.

Every president elected in a year ending in 0 ended up dying in office, running from 1840 until 1979. Ironically two of the three presidents since then to survive (so far) have been two of the three oldest presidents we've ever had.
