Depends on the country.
I'm proud of what my country was, not what it is.

Agree simply because it's unfair to call any one viewpoint foolish.
If someone doesn't feel pride in their country, so what? Maybe they've been treated like $hit by republicrats and don't feel like putting them on a pedestal and saluting them.
I'm proud of our country simply because of it's physical beauty and it's diversity. I hate the government as it is with a passion though.

If your country is one you SHOULD be proud of, go ahead and be proud. I am proud (and lucky) to be an American.

You don't have to be patiotic, but don't dare insult those who are.
That's my stance.

I would personally take it both ways: don't insult those who are patriotic if you're not, and don't insult those who aren't if you are. Both have had their respective experiences and both probably have come to a logical conclusion based on those experiences.
As for the question, I would disagree. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of your country of birth, notwithstanding those who may want to inform me that I shouldn't be proud of Canada.

My thoughts exactly -- moreso the lucky, and fortunate, to be an American, and I try to thank God enough that I am one, and have the privileges that most of the world doesn't.

Disagree/strongly disagree. It's not foolish to be proud of your country at all, it's natural.
However, you have to balance this with the next PC question: Right or wrong, I'd always support my country (or something like that, don't remember the exact wording).
