I had a dream about this situation, The Obama Administration failed to pass Health Care in 2010 and lost 8 senate seats in the midterm elections . Obama announces he will not run for a second term in 2011 . Chris Matthews became the nominee for the Democratic Party and Sarah Palin became the nominee for the Republican Party ( my dream skipped the primaries). On Election day Obama has an approval rating of 51% and the job unemployment is 6.3% .

Chris Matthews would die of a heart attack at the debates when he stands next to Sarah Palin and gets that "thrill up his leg."

Too lazy to do a map, but Matthews would win in a Clinton-92-96 landslide. I doubt Obama's approval rating would be that low if unemployment decreased so quickly, though.
