It's been a while since I've written one.  Here's my latest:

in the glass what do i see?
is it him or is it me?
what's ideal,
or what is real?
i think "i'll change;ar
increase my range"
at what sacrifice?
a painting can't function as a mirror
and drawing on a mirror distorts what's truly there.
the flaws of individuals,
the "mistakes" of an artist
are what make the painting unique.
perfection is boring;
repetition not worth anything.
true happiness isn't found in a painting.
true happiness is simple;
a reflection
a puddle
a glass
a mirror.
shed everything,
embrace yourself,
not the clothing and the labels.
What's wanted,
truly desired,
is to look straight
and be admired.
stare ahead
and who looks back?
once realized,
nought you lack.
save the image;
remember it forever.
for the moment you let it go,
you forget who you are.
don't try to change the image in a mirror.
this "simple" act is vain
and will bring you nothing but sorrow and pain.
accept the truth
of what you see
for what you see is me.
