Can we split this bill in two? I think any bill which mandates that a certain percentage of our crops must come from the Midwest would be a disaster.
Fine, let's get rid of the crops part
Debate this
Official Job Act
The Midwest shall be building dams, natural habitat areas, and giving more power to the Midwest (I.E.: TVA of the Midwest), hereby creating thousands (or more) of new jobs in the Midwest.

Fellow Midwesterners, I hope we can quickly agree on these amendments so they can go into effect before these construction projects actually begin.

Being new to the region, I'm not sure. But if you were to author a bill to that effect, I'd enthusiastically support it!

Regional Appreciation of Islam Day
It is recognized by the Midwest Universal Alțing that the Islamic culture has made an indelible mark and contribution to our region, and thus, in warmest regards, we establish a "Regional Appreciation of Islam Day" to be honored annually on the date of the Islamic New Year.
In recognition of the said day, the Midwest government shall publish informational pamphlets, and produce programing, to better acquaint Midwesterners with the Islamic people, history, and culture, in an effrot to bring better understanding and unity to our region.

I'm not sure we need to make informational packets and such; it seems kind of silly to have bureaucrats making glossy pamphlets about a religion. We could sponsor a conference or provide a platform for Muslims to discuss their religion, though.
