"Annan Warns Assault May Affect Vote"

Our good friend Kofi Annan feels that the pending raid into Fallujah will affect the up-coming Iraqi vote in January.

DUH!

Of course it's going to affect the vote.  It's going to remove/kill many of the insurgents who are holding the town hostage in order to attack other innocent Iraqi's and coalition forces.  Does Kofi think that the insurgents are going to come out and talk peace with the UN just so a vote can be performed in their stronghold?  Man this guy needs to be replaced.

By going into Fallujah and removing/killing the insurgents, another city within Iraq will be given the right to vote freely as the rest of the nation, without increased fear of being shot/blown up.

Seriously . . . it's time for Kofi to go, even if it means Clinton becomes Secretary General.

Kofi Annan is a perfect example of why we can't put our security at the mercy of the UN.

If we can somehow convince the Fallujans to give up their arms and accept Allawi's authority, then great.  But it ain't gonna happen.

Kofi is a lame duck anyway.  His son was too thick in the Oil for Food scandal, proving how defunct the UN is.

Talking can only solve problems when people are willing to listen.

the un should stick to what it does best...giving people whooping cough vaccines, and monitoring elections for tribal leader of the fijis.

other than that, they are a joke.
