Of course not considering that if I owned a house I'd host basement shows myself.

No because there are no basements in Texas.

No. My band has had small "basement shows" of sorts at my place.

In all honesty, even though I detest nuisances like that, I probably wouldn't report as the only thing I hate worse than the bothersome is being labeled a taddle-tale.

I might end up saying, "Could you please keep it down."  If that doesn't work...

I might do that, but I still probably wouldn't call the authorities or anything.  It would take something that's blatantly illegal for me to call them in.  I don't consider noise violations to be THAT serious, unless it's a frequent, recurring problem.  I've only called my neighbor in once and that was when I was in the apartment in late 2008 before I bought this house.  I was just afraid they were going to shoot each other they were yelling so much.

A rock concert held in somebody's basement.

No, it's not a concert. Concerts are big events. I have never been to a "concert" in my life. Referring to a show as a concert is a big faux pas in the scene.

A basement show is an event where a bunch of bands play in a basement.

I might end up saying, "Could you please keep it down."  If that doesn't work...

I've never been to a basement show where it was audible outside or in nearby houses. People who object to them don't so much object to the noise as they do to a couple dozen (many drunk) punks hanging around in their neighborhood. It's a common complaint of people in the neighborhood of venues that host completely legal shows too.

Again, for me, if the noise level is not too high coming out of the basement and it's not disrupting my train of thought or not disrupting what I'm trying to do in my house, then I could care less what people do in their own homes.  For me, really, if they're not selling drugs, running a meth lab, or doing something blatantly illegal, I'm not going to say anything.

So you wouldn't be bothered by a bunch of people who likely will have many tattoos, piercings and unnatural hair colors hanging out next door frequently drunk and wearing the shirts of "evil" bands and inside moshing to music which you no doubt consider evil and Satanic?

For me, really, if they're not selling drugs, running a meth lab, or doing something blatantly illegal, I'm not going to say anything.

There's a guy on my floor who is so big a stoner that I can always smell his weed whenever I'm in the hallway. You wouldn't call the police on him? I am also 90% certain another one of my apartment-mates is one of "opebo's ladies" if you get the drift. You wouldn't report her either?

(Not that the Minneapolis PD would do anything about either one if I called them anyway.)

If it's not bothering what I'm doing or disturbing my peace, no.

While I may not like the music they play, I am fully aware people have the right to listen to what they want and wear what they want.  If there aren't any minors there, they have the right to drink what they want.  I'm not going to get involved in their business.

Again, as long as they aren't disturbing my peace, I'm pretty much okay with a lot of stuff.  If I can't smell their weed (I'm talking a 'fresh' weed smell, not the residue of already-smoked weed), then I'm not going to say anything.

As long as the ladies aren't messing up what I'm trying to do.  I'm not going to say anything as long as they aren't underage and having sex.  Of course, I'm not going to 'card' them or anything like that, but as long as she doesn't look underage, I'm fine.  If they want to have sex in their room and they are consenting adults, fine.

If you catch the theme here, it is "As long as they don't disturb my peace."

Haha, I think jmfcst and I were both assuming it was something more along the lines of a underage striptease or group sex party.

They'd probably just congregate around your window then, young white dudes love Wu-Tang!

And no, I wouldn't report it because I'd probably be there
