Well I've got to say the Closing Ceremony was absolutely fantastic!

Bang up job by the organisers.

Oh and seeing Boris Johnson dancing with glee to the Spice Girls is priceless.

I loved the basketball match. Spanish players (specially Pau and Navarro) were awesome. But the USA team is just unbeatable. Congratulations, Americans, it was a great game!! I'm really, really glad with our silver medal, the same one we had in Beijing.

There's this running joke that if you are playing in Olympic Basketball and not an American, you're playing for Silver.

Yes, that's true. And that's why we have a gold medal made of silver Smiley But, playing only a little better, we could have had a gold medal made of gold...

I think the closing ceremony was the most embarrassing piece of TV that i've ever seen. Made me feel genuinely ashamed of being British. Horrendous!

Nothing like the incredible opening ceremony at all.

Yeah, I was surprised at the final score.  7 point difference.

I preferred the Closing Ceremony of Vancouver's.

Fashion? Seriously?  that. Give me Kylie on a high heel or The Seekers on a thong any day.

You do know, hughento, that "thong" means something different in the UK?

I don't think anyone is surprised. Valerie Adams must've known, but she showed great grace in receiving her silver. I feel sorry for her, but we all knew she was the real champion from the start.

It's very hard to offend Irish people. You should have seen our boxing commentator. Managing to go the whole fight without mentioning anything about the actual fight. Which sucks considering 90% of people need the commentator to say who's winning.

What did the President of Belarus say to his athletes again? "All that matters is that you win...? Something like that I think.

I am not surprised she's doped but I am surprised she has been caught during the Games. Something must have not gone as planned in her programme

The meme here is "inserting photos of one-minute-celebrities into other photos". Anything else is an abuse of the term "meme".

I sort of miss the games already Sad London 2012 was wonderfully human. The only other games for me that compare were Sydney and Barcelona. We have the Winter Olympics in hardline Russia and then we have a party in Rio I suppose. I long for Madrid in 2020.

So as a matter of fact is Balotelli. Well, to people who care about the sport in question.
But the meme was not invented for either man.

The Trinidad Javelin winner got 20,000 square feet of land from the government (+ many other things).
Have the Bahamas rewarded their winners with a couple of islands yet (like they did with their 4x100 in Sydney)?
