Except for her Cullen assessment, agreed with Hebert. Interesting that none of these commentators mention the ideology thing though.

Agreed with everything except Dewar and to a degree, Mulcair.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm praying for another black-yellow majority, and for the SPD to get shattered. It's exactly what it deserves.

If any previous Canadian convention is any guide, each round should take approximately two hours than they say it will.
Anyway, really I have no idea what will happen. I guess Mulcair will probably win after a few rounds - he seems to have not done anything idiotic and has broad enough support within the party. But who knows, really.
Contrary to what has been occasionally suggested, I doubt that the down-ballot choices for most candidates will be
that
different from the first ballot - people make their choices on the basis of all kinds of things. And if Topp goes out early having failed to get much traction, plenty of his votes will go to Mulcair. The sort of people who form Topp's core base aren't fools as to the Quebec situation.
On the other hand, even though it's pretty unlikely, I'll admit it wouldn't completely
shock
me if Topp were stronger than the forum thinks. If we hadn't had any real polls and only had the internet (which is basically our situation now), we would have thought that Hillary Clinton had only "establishment" and no "grassroots" support too...

Seems underwhelming for Tommy, but I guess he'll end up winning

I think Cullen's support is more likely to go to Topp (BC), and Nash's to Mulcair (Toronto/ON). Singh to Mulcair, probably. Don't know about Dewar.

Strong showing for Cullen. A lot of Favorite Son support from BC in there, I suppose.

Gosh, Niki Ashton's platitudes about "new politics" is more annoying than Mittbot's speeches.

Dewar is dropping out too.
And Mitt Romney has better French than Paul Dewar.

And Nash is staying put. When do we get the next ballot? 11?

Supposed to be 11, most likely 11:30 or 12. Might as well get some laundry done.
I hope Nash finishes in second. Maybe I should've made her my first choice.

Charlie Angus is backing Mulcair (and doesn't seem all that enthused about it).

Apparently Mulcair started having a temper tantrum and yelling at staff members and delegates because he didn't hit 35%.

Some people like to troll their ballot. Some people vote for the "minority" (though Singh being a convert is White, actually.) And some people probably actually liked him in the debates and such.

It's been reported by people nearby. And knowing him, it's not that hard to believe.

Why is James Moore creeping at the NDP convention, besides trolling? The Purgatories are scary people.
What a douche.

Wow. 11:38. They won't extend the time for leaders' speeches enough so that Mulcair can say his speech well and Nash can actually make a speech without technical difficulties, yet they let an interim leader's speech go on long enough to throw voting this much off-schedule?
