Mixed signals depending on who you talk to, but I'd expect Nash supporters would go to Topp, which means Mulcair wins. The last ABM window requires Cullen surpassing Topp.

Grrrr.... Why isn't the party talking more about his Bay Street and Israel lobby funding?  How could they be so stupid?!?!

He may be restricted from taking the party in a Third Way direction, but privately it's clear that he harbors the ideology of Tony Blair and the temperament of Gordon Brown: the worst of both worlds!

This online voting is turning out to be a disaster (which should've been obvious the moment it was proposed). Not sure what they were thinking.

Because they want to keep OO more than anything else. He will certainly be on probation, that I don't doubt. Even his supporters on this forum say they'll jump at the first hint of Blairism.

Apparently the NDP now suspects that hacking from outside might be the cause- but that's only a suspicion.

lol ndp. What a bunch of amateurish incompetent nincompoops. I go and destroy my legs for 3 hours and they're still voting for another hour? Sounds like an African election.

I guess that Mulcair is the best by far. The NDP cannot be ideologically purist.

You probably mean 'may not be ideologically purist', in the sense that you aren't giving the NDP your personal permission to do so. (Not that the NDP cares about what some random Illinoisan has to say...) Any party (including the NDP) has the physical capability to be purist, and therefore can be purist.

Now, the NDP seems to say than the problems were created by a denial of service attack.

Vosem, the NDP can be purist, but I'm nor sure it's the best path, considering it has to look moderate to gain voters.
By the way, there is a difference between being moderate and seeming moderate during an electoral campaign. Harper proved that.

Brad Lavigne (some guy in the leadership of the party) said there was an attempt to disrupt voting.

I don't see how Mulcair loses at this point. It would've required Cullen placing on the 2nd ballot and a gang-up IMO.

Mulcair's won then. He needs only a quarter of Cullen's voters. He should get that easily.

Maybe the NDP can be competent in handling this final ballot and not useless jokes.

Well, with the exception of that useless bag of hot air Topp, they seem to have successfully avoided acting like total Grits and tear each others' throats out. But maybe self-sabotage is the right way to pick a leader and win government after all?

Again, NDP isn't responsible of the attack on the NDP website.

Does it is a Liberal employee, again, like the Vikileaks thing?

Damn.  Okay, fine.  It's Mulcair's to loose.  I just hope it's a really razor-thin margin as a warning to him.

Really, what did we expect to happen? I've never seen any indication from Brian Topp of competence of any kind throughout this process.

Really, what did we expect to happen? I've never seen any indication from Brian Topp of competence of any kind throughout this process.

Topp does not have nearly as good a knowledge of policy as he believes, and obviously he made an error in making his principal pledge a tax hike on the rich. But that can be forgiven - none of the other candidates are too much better. What can't be forgiven is his barrage of negativity in the last week, scrounging up all of his connections while labeling Mulcair as the Antichrist. Who does he think he is, really?

I am not too worried about Mulcair winning. He will be chosen not because he has any deep grasp of policy, but because he can lead the NDP to organize on the ground on Harper's level. This is what is meant by "modernizing" the party - make the NDP able to fight a real campaign against the Conservatives without becoming trapped in the logistics. Given what happened with the online voting, there's a lot of work left.

Mulcair as party leader would be someone who can deliver punchy soundbites, as well as the one who can crack Harper during debate. An eventual NDP government would not be centred around the Prime Minister like Harper's; cabinet would regain its relevance.

Mulcair being a chairman rather than a CEO? Not unless he's had a personality transplant in the past little while.
