No because outside of the party, there is the real world where not everything is based on or revolves around government. I'm sick of hearing how government experience is a plus. Run the government and the country like a successful business and we'll do fine. Forget the leftwing talking points and just balance the budget and cut taxes even if it means cutting a few services. Unfortunately since FDR we've had the mentality on the left about how having government services is important but it has been overstated in order to make people dependent on the democratic party. Obama doesn't understand economic, have a clue how supply and demand works, and has never held a job in his life. Now he wants to tell my doctor what's what? This is the kind of thing that happens when you don't treat our government and budget like a business. If a business goes under from bad decision making, so should the ruling class or in this case democrats.
Sick of this troll's rhetoric.

no, it's a positive development -- it's important to understand how significant slices of the population think.

Politico, wouldn't it be cheaper to let China take care of the asteroid itself than to borrow the money from them just so that we could say we did it?
Who said we should do anything about the asteroid if it is not bound to hit anywhere near us, and the nation(s) that are in its path did not want to help pay for our efforts? Of course, we should still do it for the goodwill involved...
For the record, I'd be in favor of letting it hit Iran, North Korea, and Cuba.

Can a Presidential candidate for once use a screamo metal campaign song rather than a sappy country or pop ballad?
For implying that such a thing as "screamo metal" even exists.

Actually might as well amend to that everything J. J. says about polls in general.

This is laughable. While Kaptur is indeed consistently conservative record on abortion,
she's been consistently liberal on almost all, if not all, other issues.
Beside, she's been far more valuable Congressperson than Dennis ever was.
I liked Dennis, but with choice between him and Kaptur, I'd always choose Kaptur.

Are there really that many people that want to vote and can't under the current system because it's on a Tuesday and are too stupid/ignorant to vote any other way? Do we really want more stupid/ignorant people voting?

What does class have to do with stupidity or ignorance?
I'm not even sure if it belongs here because of the failure to understand that "stupidity" and "ignorance", in context, are weasel words for class; or just because it belongs here even when read literally. Either works.

I agree.
I don't go around questioning people's character based on a
number
and neither should you, greenforest.
It's not so much a specific number as it is the philosophy of what you believe government should do. I find these views repugnant and obviously this brings down my opinion of anyone who advocates for such views.

You know, after this comment, I think it's time to stop holding my tongue on what I've thought of you ever since the first post of yours I had the misfortune to see: you are quite possibly one of the most ignorant hacks I have ever met on a political forum. And give yourself a pat on the back, because I've been to a lot.
Just to put it out there. And before you try and claw my throat out for being a fascist(not that you would know the actual meaning of the term), I would like to reiterate that I think Rush is the scum of the earth.
Oh yes, this ruthlessly brutal and enlightening comment has caused me to question everything I know and I'm happy to report to you that this soul-searching has led me to change both my personality and my beliefs. Thank you.

Not sure where the impression with me being a hack for parties or arbitrary numbers (LOL HIS FAVORITE NUMBER IS 7) comes from. If I'm a hack for anything, it's for issues.
And as far as personality, I'm not really concerned about tip-toeing around and wording my comments in a way that causes every member here to have a high opinion of me. Not interested
I do enjoy a good spat and some trolling myself

Is he a Governor or a Senator?
"Uh...I don't know what those words are."
Then why vote for him?
"Cuz."
BARACK OBAMA ELECTED PRESIDENT
Sense of Entitlement - America is founded on Capitalism, Freedom and Opportunity. Period. We had a "Cold War" that would have brought about nuclear Armageddon before communism. Think about that. Just 20 short years ago, we would've launched nuclear warheads before surrendering our Capitalistic society. Now, just a brief page turn later, we find citizens and sadly even some of our leaders acting as though Capitalism is not the American way, but rather the Utopian-like society of Europe. Moreover, people across the country feel "entitled" to everything. They are not. Period. They are entitled to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. Not free things because they feel like it. You're Americans. Don't forget.

I've endorsed Romney out of the GOP field because he's the most likely to beat Obama and has the best governing experience. He's also the most like me and closest to my ideology. We just have so much in common and connect in so many ways.
Yet another reason for the jmfcsts to not Romney.
