Good point -- a guy whose arrogance and incompetence caused the deaths of 1,000,000 Americans in four years (the equivalent of 10 million today).

Don't forget:  Less than half of the Southern states seceded due to Lincoln's election.  It was his actions after taking office that drove Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia out of the union (and caused the collapse of the governments of Missouri and Kentucky).

I know it's mostly rhetoric... but I think Romney is really onto something when he talks about how Obama wants to divide the country.

"Let's assume all your friends are liberals who will donate to something we can all appreciate." My Lord. Most of my friends support Obama... but we can get over our political differences because we are friends. BUT if anyone invited me to a party and asked me to donate to Obama instead of give them a gift, I probably wouldn't even bother showing up.

Would maybe be nice if they could say HOW exactly Obama has been fighting to get us out of this recession. I gotta laugh at these ads from both sides. They are so transparently hollow it's ridiculous.

This is probably the second biggest issue in the campaign and Obama loses about 30 to 60 on it.  Now that it is a tax issue, it is really in the republican's wheel house.

Except no one cares much about Romney's flip-flops. As Biden said, Obamacare is a BFD that people already hate. Now that it's a tax, it's even more hatable. People who were on the fence about Obamacare now have another reason to hate it (they of course won't know two cent's worth about the bill--they'll just hate it because of how it's now being spun).

Yes I have been a bit surprised at Romney's lack on TV ads. He only had ads in 4 states until about a week ago while Obama dropped 25 mil + in June alone. It helps that he has better cover from the Super-pacs but Romney needs to bring it himself.

Yes I have been a bit surprised at Romney's lack on TV ads. He only had ads in 4 states until about a week ago while Obama dropped 25 mil + in June alone. It helps that he has better cover from the Super-pacs but Romney needs to bring it himself.

Romney's pattern so far has largely been to let the SuperPACs do the attack ads while his campaign sticks to positive ads.  That way if an attack ad goes too far and backfires he can claim to have had nothing to do with it.

mitt is a very weak candidate. Obama still leading in polls with $$$$millions of dollars of negative attacks ads against him and romney raising lots of money.
