Constitutionality of banning certain types of bullets

I've been thinking about this...we hear about the pros and cons of gun control, but what about the
bullet
argument? Is it Constitutional to ban specific bullets that are viewed as too dangerous? I contend that it is on the grounds that it is not directly banning or restricting gun use.
What say you?

Well, I'm an amateur, but one can still bear arms. There's nothing about right to bullets

That's what I say. It doesn't make explicitly clear about usage of bullets.

The unique misfortune of the Palestinian refugees is that they are a weapon in what seems to be a permanent war...today, in the Middle East, you get a repeated sinking sensation about the Palestinian refugees: they are only a beginning, not an end. Their function is to hang around and be constantly useful as a goad. The ultimate aim is not such humane small potatoes as repatriating refugees.

Neither the Constitution, nor the Bill of Rights mention bullets. The federal government may regulate them as they please.

Presuming that the usual weaseling idea that weapons with no military use are not protected (thereby justifying bans on sawed-off shotguns and switchblades) then banning explosive bullets would be constitutional. There's a international treaty (possibly one of the Geneva's) that bans the use of them in war.

Perhaps it serves as an example of how the Constitution's contents have aged? Back then I don't expect there would have been much deliberation about the subject given that the lead balls could be produced by just about anyone with a campfire, pot, a basic hand-held tool and a little bit of know-how. With the advent of new technologies and with such remarkable social developments occurring over the years we end up having to grapple with many issues that the Founders likely could not have reasonably been expected to foresee and make prescriptions concerning - all the better I say that they left us with a legal framework for adapting to a world in constant change and means for amending the document if considered necessary by a substantial enough majority.

There is. Bullets have an 11% federal excise tax (in addition to state sales tax, of course, where applicable).
