In PPP's final poll, its up 55-39.
Voters who actually know what the amendment does break against it 61-37.
I think the media in this country exists to make sure the voters are not informed.
Too bad that Jerry Brown wasn't attorney general there to name it "Eliminates Rights of couples to have domestic partnerships Constitutional Amendment".
Yeah. The problem here is that people are seeing this as a referendum on gay marriage, which it isn't.

North Caroliners are just dumb. I'm no fan of Arizona, but at least their voters realized they only wanted to ban gay marriage and not civil unions.
BTW that 2006 civil union vote was the only time that a ban on gay marriage has failed at the ballot box in a state. They did ban it in 2008. However, I'd be surprised if no state votes for gay marriage this November.

Well, NC has always been a very socially conservative state. Even the Democrats there are still less liberal on social issue than the national party.

And Arizona is a bastion of liberalism outside of Tuscon?

Hmm?
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2012/05/marriage-amendment-still-leads-by-14.html
The poll shows Marriage +14. Of course right now the electorate is currently +22.6.
Based on the results that was a junk poll!

Dude. It had the amendment
passing
. By a wide margin. You've just become a parody of yourself, at this point.

Well, a more accurate pollster would have gotten the proper margin of roughly +22.
PPP instead had this.
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2012/04/momentum-moving-against-nc-amendment.html
"Momentum is turning against North Carolina's proposed marriage amendment..."
"There is some reason to think a huge upset in two weeks is within the realm of possibility..."
"... and it seems quite possible that as voters become more and more informed about the amendment they will continue to move more and more against it...."
"...regardless of what happens on this vote in two weeks, the tide is strongly turning...."
I wonder how PPP cooked the books on this poll.

krazen, don't be ridiculous. Here's PPP's final amendment poll from this weekend:
Would you vote for or against a constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between
one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State?
Would vote for it.............................................. 55%
Would vote against it ...................................... 39%
Not sure .......................................................... 6%
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2011/PPP_Release_NC_506.pdf
They even said it might end up at 60%, because of how the undecideds break. They also got the Governor races correct.
SurveyUSA of course had the best amendment poll with 57-37:
