Easily. Seeing them in June now, can't wait, I'm feeling like a 14-year old girl about to see Justin Bieber.

I am so going to wear the shirt of a band that promotes atheism to be "ironic", just like I changed into an Ampere shirt after I was dunked.

'Adam Lay Ybownden', 'O Salutaris Hostia', and Allegri's Miserere are Christian music, so no.

Allegri's Miserere is Christian music, so no.

*listens*

OK I made it about a minute in. This most certainly does not compare to this or this.

Also I can't understand any of it. It might as well be in the original Latin.

You may be on to something.
The Fox, The Crow, And The Cookie is another gem from their discography.

Tweed sent me this a bit ago pointing out based on this the new record should be great. He was right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv2k_3bUdrg

I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but I'll definitely be picking up the vinyl version on Tuesday when it hits.

Speaking of vinyl, In a Market Dimly Lit is another favorite.

I really dig mewithoutYou but I still think The Devil Wears Prada is my favourite Christian band. I've always said that if I ever convert back to Christianity, it'll be because of The Devil Wears Prada.

The Devil Wears Prada are nothing but very generic fifth wave metalcore indistinguishable from dozens of other bands.

The Power of Failing was probably better than anything mwY has done.  you may categorically argue that Mineral was not 'Christian music', but neither is mwY a 'Christian band' nor Christian rock.

That album has like only like two Christian songs on it. Most of Mineral's more Christian songs were on EndSerenading. Also mewithoutYou has had far more explicit Christian references in their songs than anything Mineral had done (also think of the meaning of "A->B Life")

Oh so it is in Latin after all? LOL. Nathan do you have a last.fm? It'd be funny to compare us.

Tweed, if you get an LDS baptism are you going to wear a band shirt and if so which one? I wore a Jawbreaker shirt.

I don't, but a friend's pressuring me to get it, so if I do comparing with you will definitely be interesting/amusing.

"of all time" is so fitting to the personality of the OP. Seriously? "Of all time"? Have you declared yourself judge of all music from the 500's to present? Oh, but you have certain tastes, and your tastes are "right", and we should agree with you then, and your tastes say that "mewithoutYou" is good, and you like it more than other things, so obviously it has to be the best. Right.

As for me? I'd say "What Wondrous Love is This?" from that church hymnal is my favorite.

Uh, it's not much different than if you proclaimed The Doors the best band of all time.

This is most certainly better than this. I wish I had recorded them playing it, but honestly it would've been just a blur with how much jumping I was doing during that song. That hymn doesn't even make me want to raise my hands, which should be a minimum for any Christian song.

Go easy on Cathcon, it's not his fault he's unfamiliar with the greatness that is Boris Ord's majestic setting of 'Adam Lay Ybounden'.

Don't recall saying that, but if I did, the logic I stated in the quoted post is still just as relevant.

Actually don't seem like that bad of a band, though I can't claim to be a huge fan of the singer.

As for what I mentioned, it should be mentioned that I listen to it with my church's cantor, not that dude that's singin' it.

And lastly, what do you mean by hand-raising? You mean This? In any case, as I always say when our current organist goes into that one song, "We're Catholic, dammit! We don't sway to our music!" and I'll reiterate here as well. I don't listen to music to be physically moved per se (sp?), I prefer to be mentally absorbed. I don't really need to do some weird motion to do such. I don't party in church is what I'm saying. You seem to feel a need to be entertained by what's in church. I don't wanna start a feud here or something, but you seem to be just as intolerant as me on music (more so?) just in the opposite direction.
