This will be all for show as opposed to an actual campaign, right?

It might be interesting to see if
anyone
votes for Argentina...

Are there any decendants of Argentinians living on the Falklands?

Maybe some people will be asked to vote for Argentina just to prevent a 100% result.

I'll predict a 95-5 result in favor of remaining. Of the 5%, 1% will be actually in favor and the other 4% will be protest votes.

It'll be closer than expected. I say 92-8 hahaha... Because of the low turnout, of course. Everyone (2 or 3 people) who want Malvinas to be part of Argentina will vote in that referendum, so that might tighten things.

Oh, I am sure, there will be a high turnout. The locals would love to show what they think Argentina should do (i.e., go frock itself).

I was looking at the last referendum the Falklands had:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falkland_Islands_electoral_system_referendum,_2011
Assuming similar turnout, I'm sure there are 30 or so voters who will be willing to buck the trend for some reason or another.

I think its safe to assume that more people will vote in a referendum on the future status of the islands than will on a change to the election system.

I saw in Spanish TV a report when it was the Anniversary of the Falklands/Malvinas War. I remember that it mentioned about 20 or 30 people with Argentinian ancestors.

I haven't read the article, but I firmly support Simfan's efforts to blame Lena Dunham for our society's rot.
