Not even a vote for Davis?

That would actually be a hard one as I like both.

Purely economics as the issue of the civil war would have faded from memory. FDR was scum, I'd have never voted for him. Plus I based that list on my personal ideology, not necessarily as the standard voter of the time period.

So you would have gotten over your family losing their slaves at that point, right? And you have the nerve to call someone else scum.

Either one would be fine with me.

1992 is a really tough one for me. I think I'd go for Clinton based on healthcare and a few other things but both were good candidates.

He seriously did vote for McCain. Totally unpredictable and completely random, I know. Considering he spent most of this year attacking and mocking him. Then did a 180 about two weeks before the election.

People appear to think George Romney was a conservative like the post-Massachusetts version of Mitt Romney. In reality, George Romney was the moderate-to-liberal candidate in the 1968 Republican parties (and would probably be considered a liberal in today's political environment). He ran against the Viet Nam War and in 1964 refused to endorse Barry Goldwater in the general. It would've been strange for a Goldwater/Ashbrook/Reagan Republican to vote for Romney in 1968, particularly considering there was a conservative running, Ronald Reagan himself.

Why would you have felt the need to pretend to vote for someone else?  Especially an open racist?  And I'm also confused by your decision to vote for Cleveland (along with others).  He's pretty much the diametric opposite of what you seem to stand for.

I live in Biloxi, Mississippi. I know how this area has voted over time. We may be culturally akin to Louisiana, but in those days all the same rules applied as in the rest of the state. Of course, in 1960 we actually voted for Kennedy when all the hicks voted for Nixon or the "Unpledged Slate"

And as for Cleveland, he was the Democratic candidate wasn't he, and the ancestors of mine who were not in Croatia, or in a part of LaFourche Parish you've never heard of were all involved in the liberation movements of the 1870s, so had I been alive at the time, I probably also would have been involved in one of those movements, and would have been voting solid Democratic.
