OK, I'll give this a go

1940 After the Peace treaty:

- Germany: After the victory in Western Europe, the tide of history seemed to validate Nazi Propaganda. With the French occupied and the UK subjugated, Hitler turned to the Soviet Union. However with troop returning from the Western Front and the summer nearly over, Hitler would bide his time before invading the Soviet Union. By the end of the year Nazi Germany and its Allies, vassals would form the Council of Europe. The first act of the Council of Europe was for its constituent nations to leave the League of Nations, effectively killing the organisation.

Germany also found itself in the position of having pacific and East Asian colonies (Former French Indo-china, Former Dutch East Indies and former German pacific territories) again as a result of the peace treaty. During the winter of 1940-41, Hitler negotiated with his axis partner Japan. Hitler pledged to turn these newly gained areas to quasi-independent nations under Japan's East Asia prosperity sphere. In return Japan would participate in the invasion of the Soviet Union from the pacific.

UK: With the war over and Parliament due to expire its 5 year term at the end of 1940, party politics returned to usual with labour and the Labour and Liberal withdrawing from the War government. An election was held in November which saw an election of a Labour Government with Clement Atlee as PM with a majority of 163.

Labour's win was put down to national insecurity and a general anger at the loss of the war in Western Europe. There was also some desire for the enactment of labour's socialist program.

US: With the war over in Western Europe, fear of entanglement was less of an issue than in OTL. As a result the presidential election was more about the New Deal. Most political observers expected a modest victory of FDR, however on election night a Wendell Wilkie won a narrow victory in both the popular vote and the Electoral College.

1941

In May, Germany and her Allies invaded the USSR in the west while Japan invaded the Soviet Union in the east. With a war on two fronts, the Soviet Union had to sacrifice one and by September Japan had captured most of Siberia. By the time of the enforced winter stalemate, The Nazis were just outside Moscow.

Both sides called upon both the UK and the US for help but both declined.

Clement Atlee reached out to the US to form an alliance. Initially PM Atlee was rebuffed, however with invasion of the Soviet Union it became apparent to the US that it would have to live in a world with a Nazi Germany dominant in Europe and Japan dominant in East Asia. As a result the US signed the Atlantic Charter with the UK. The ATL Atlantic Charter mandated:

- That the nations that were signatories to the charter were free and democratic nations

- An international organisation would be formed from the signatories

- The United States and any future non-British Empire Nations would be included in the Imperial trade preference arrangements

In the UK the charter was warmly greeted as an anti-Nazi Bulwark, although the Conservatives were opposed to the admission of the US into the Imperial preference trade arrangements. This resulted in a mild conservative opposition to the charter. Churchill who was for the charter left the Tories and rejoined the Liberals.

In the US the Atlantic Charter had its domestic opponents as well upset about getting America into foreign entanglements. However using his political capital as a 1st year president Wilkie won slim majority in the Senate to approve the treaty.

1942:

With the thaw of Winter the war on the Soviet Union began again. In February, Stalin was shot and killed in a General’s coup with a Triumvirate of General’s led by titular head Georgy Zhukov coming to power. However the two front war was too much for the Soviets. Surrender occurred in October with what was left of the Soviet army from a core of resistance in the Urals. East of the Urals, the Japanese puppet state of Siberia  was established. While in the west, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia were given independence under the Nazi controlled Council of Europe.

The Atlantic Charter was signed by all of the British Dominions including those in Asia and the Pacific.

If Japan attacks the US, the Axis powers are toast with the US and USSR united against them.

If Japan doesn't attack the US, and they are only fighting the USSR, it will be one very very long war.
