What an amazingly bad test.
It incidentally called me a centrist.
Don't feel bad, it called me a Republican.

Capitalist
You are 35% Socially Permissive and 70% Economically Permissive!
Capitalists allow for the most economic freedom possible. They believe in a free, lightly regulated market. The freer the market, the freer the people! As far as social freedoms, capitalists are usually more permissive than Republicans. You'd get along with Adam Smith!

Democrat
You are 47% Socially Permissive and 20% Economically Permissive!
You are a Democrat. You believe that the government should not tell you how to live, but should use your money to help the less fortunate. You probably support such programs as social security and welfare. You also believe in social equality of outcome. You are more economically permissive than a socialist. You'd probably sit down and chat with Bill Clinton.

Are you a Hipster?
The Subtle Hipster
You're pretty hip, but not in a ridiculously over-the-top kind of way. In fact, you probably look like a regular person generally and almost blend in with the masses, but you wear a few subtle signifiers of your hipness. In fact, hipsters probably don't realize how hip you are until you get into conversations about music, movies, and politics. You're at a healthy level of hipness. Rock on. Don't try too hard.

Your result for The Are you a Hipster Test ...
The Hipster
sweet jesus. you're ###% hipster.
You're so hip that I'm actually a little shocked that you took this test. Here's the verdict: I'd want to bang you, but you also walk the fine line between hot and ridiculous. You're also probably a bit vain and obsessed with your image. Don't be terribly insulted--that's the same way I feel about myself a lot of the time. I recommend that you work on not being quite so superficial. But keep on with that hotness. Oh yeah--and you might want to refrain from calling yourself a hipster. It's just not cool. But you know that already.
Kill me.

That hipster test needs a NOTA option.
Hard
.
Subtle Hipster for me after taking least worst on several questions, possibly at the upper end of that ("you scored 89% on hippoints, higher than 82% of testtakers").

You are a Social Democrat. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 26 percent are more extremist than you.
It should be noted, I didn't bother to weigh any of the questions.

You are a Staunch Conservative
Defining Values:
Pro-business, pro-military, pro-life, anti-gay and anti-social welfare with a strong faith in America. Anti-environmental. Self-defined patriot. Distrustful of government. Little concern for the poor. Unsupportive of the women's movement.
Who They Are:
Predominately white (93%), male (62%) and older. Married (74%). Extremely satisfied financially (54% make at least ,000). Fifty-seven percent are white Protestants.

Morality (27%)
Taxes (21%)
Top Issues and Concerns in the 2000 Campaign:
Using payroll taxes for private retirement accounts (86%)
Eliminating the Inheritance Tax (85%)
Adding prescription drug benefits to Medicare (73%)
Analysis:
As in 1994, this extremely partisan Republican group's politics are driven by a belief in the free enterprise system and social values that reflect a conservative agenda. Dissatisfied with the state of the nation, Staunch Conservatives pay close attention to what is going on in politics and are highly vocal.

Defining Values:
Distrustful of government, politicians, and business corporations. Favor creation of third major political party. Also, anti-immigrant and intolerant of homosexuality. Very unsatisfied financially.
Who They Are:
Less-educated (only 8% have a college degree) and lower-income (84% make less than $50,000). Half are between the ages of 30-49. Second only to Partisan Poor in number of single parents.
Top Priorites for the Next President:
Social Security (27%)
Education (19%)
Top Issues and Concerns in the 2000 Election:
Not having enough money for retirement (92%)
Being unable to afford health care for a sick family member (91%)
Adding prescription drug benefits to Medicare (91%)
Being unable to put a child through college (85%)
Using payroll taxes for private retirement accounts (82%)
Analysis:
The Disaffecteds feel completely estranged from both parties. This financially pressured and pessimistic group is not only dissatisfied with the ability of politicians to help improve things, but also has less faith in America in general.

New Prosperity Independent
Defining Values:
Pro-business, pro-environment and many are pro-choice. Sympathetic toward immigrants, but not as understanding toward black Americans and the poor. Somewhat critical of government. Tolerant on social issues.
Who They Are:
Well-educated (40% have a college degree), affluent (almost four-in-ten earn at least $75,000), young (70% less than age 50), and male (64%). Less religious (only 15% go to church weekly).
Top Priorites for the Next President:
Education (25%)
Health Care (19%)
Top Issues and Concerns in the 2000 Election:
Adding prescription drug benefits to Medicare (91%)
Using payroll taxes for private retirement accounts (84%)
Eliminating the Inheritance Tax (79%)
Analysis:
Affluent and less religious, this group is basically non-partisan with a slight lean toward the Republican Party. New Prosperity Independents are highly satisfied with the things that are going in the country. A majority approves of Bill Clinton, yet tends to be critical of government. One-third consider themselves Internet enthusiasts. Two-thirds favor having third major political party in addition to the Democrats and Republicans.
This isn't entirely accurate.
