Your score pegs you as economically leftist and socially moderately libertarian.

Economic leftists mostly support strict economic controls and programs to assure that the poor are elevated to a higher position in society.

Moderate social libertarians generally favor a hands-off approach to social legislation. They may believe that the government has no right to enforce morals, but may support certain controls on individual rights to avoid crime, drug use, or similar social ills.

Your score pegs you as economically center-capitalist and socially center-libertarian.

Center-capitalists often support free trade and low taxes, but take pragmatic stances on economic issues, supporting what they see as the best balance between encouraging business and maintaining free trade.

Social center-libertarians generally have moderate social views, with a slight lean toward avoiding government intervention. However, they support government intervention in matters that they see as threats to society.

I took the test a bunch of times, varying how many critical checks I put (I gave different answers than last time four months ago, but the initial results are identical).

Normal Amount of Checks(8/27):
E: +2.45 S: +7.30

Limited to only one check(you guess which issue....):
E: +2.45 S: +6.26

No Checks:
E: +2.45 S: +6.09

A More Generous Number of Checks (I forgot how many but ~12ish)
E: +2.84 S: +7.65

With the furthest left answers I could reasonably see myself giving:
E: -0.13 S: +5.04

With the furthest right answers I could reasonably see myself giving:
E: +5.16 S: +7.83

I don't usually use many checks when I take the Political Matrix, except on the abortion question.

Here's what I just got with my usual method:
E: -2.97, S: +1.74

Here's what happens when I'm a bit more liberal with the checking:
E: -4.00, S: +2.78

I just retook the test:

Economic score: +1.81
Social score: +4.7

Your score pegs you as economically center-capitalist and socially moderately authoritarian.

Center-capitalists often support free trade and low taxes, but take pragmatic stances on economic issues, supporting what they see as the best balance between encouraging business and maintaining free trade.

Moderate social authoritarians typically support social controls meant to encourage moral behavior and an organized society, although they may have some moderate or libertarian positions.

I've become slightly more libertarian in recent months, so it's probably time I drop the populist label I was once associated with. I think the biggest transformation is my feeling that government should mostly stay out of our lives, both economically and socially, while before, it was mainly only economics.

On issues most concerning to GOP voters, I'd probably be considered conservative, though the death penalty would become a major issue were I to ever run for office. Wink
