Let's say that George W. Bush had a sex change in 2003. Other than that, the election was completely the same.
The question becomes...who would you vote for, and who would win?
Georgia Bush (R)
Or John Kerry (D)?
Georgia would become America's first female President in 2003 after the operation, but the real question is could she become the first woman
elected
President?

I would be tempted to vote for any transexual, but of course would vote for Kerry because he would've made such a good president.

Kerry wins in a landslide.
Lowest turnout in history, only about 25% in the South and ín the mormon states. Map looks like this:

I don't think Bush wins the nomination, but he loses the election in a land-slide. He could still take some states like Alaska or Idaho, because they're that Republican, but he would lose BADLY everywhere else.

Of course Bush wouldn't have won (though he might have done better in San Francisco. . .)

Yeah i'd have to imagine he'd lose in the primaries or be talked into not running by the republican leadership. Can you imagine that conversation?

If Bush had a sex change, he should do very well indeed in solid Democratic states. They would, after all, have to show their tolerant nature and open mindedness. Otherwise, they would be releaved to be nothing more than hyopcrites, all talk and no action.
Now the question, what if Kerry was the one who had the sex change, what happens?

No, Democrats would still of course vote for their candidate, and liberals would vote for the candidate who more closely matches their views, John Kerry.

FYI, genetically, he/she would still be male, so would he/she really count as our first female President?

Yes. Obama has half his genetic make-up from a white mother but is still considered to be the first black President. And if it's all about genetics and XY and XX, some people are XXY but are considered male (though often can have fertility issues). What about XXYY etc.
