Paul (D)

And this is the absolutely ONLY scenario in which I'd vote for the Republican. But I find it funny how many Republicans prefer Hillary. That shows something.

Most likely someone else.

Paul is right about Iraq but his postions on a number of other issues are a little disturbing to me. That includes economic and even some social issues (abortion).

Hillary on the other hand has always been wrong on Iraq and frankly strikes me as a pretty evil, manipulitive person.

Anyway, Hillary would almost certainly win in a landslide (sadly). If Paul could moderate himself on some of the economic issues, I could probably vote for him.

At least Paul isn't a corporatist though like most Republicans on economics.

Ron Paul (R)

His views on Iraq suck but most of his other views are also directly in line with my own

See, I think he's ultimately right about Iraq, in that we don't need to be there and this war is basically not worth fighting.  It's a few of his other views I think that make him crazy.

Or maybe it's just that he doesn't know how to present his arguments in a way that make him seem sane.

Hillary, easily.  I'd vote for almost anyone over Paul.

Paul would ruin everything.

If the main issue at the election is the War, Paul is the only Republican who can win.

If that's the case, then the Republicans are doomed.

I would first look to a third party...

I doubt I can vote for either of them in good conscience. Both of them have stances that I just cannot swallow.

Paul is right on Iraq and wrong on most everything else, while Hillary has stated she would've voted for the Iraq resolution again, and I don't like her... I mean personally, she comes off as a bitch.

What issue(s) besides Iraq do you agree with Paul more than Hillary?

As for myself, Paul has some good ideas on Iraq and some social issues, but his economic views are way too extreme for me to even consider voting for him.

Paul [D]

I just really really really really really really really really don't like Hilary and there is no way I vote for her in 11/08, over anyone. That, and I've got a libertarian streak that Paul  fits well in.

Question:

Hillary is anti-war.  She's said repeatedly that, if elected, she will end the war in Iraq.

How is Hillary bad about Iraq?

Not only is Hillary bad on the war, but she's also pro-censorship and weirdly moralist in some things in the vein of Lieberman.

Once would be sufficient if you could actually do it.

She voted for the war and she still believes she was right to do so. Pro-war. End of story.

Paul, even if he's on the extreme end of libertarianism.

Frankly I think he might not be that bad of a president. First off he wouldn't be able to get most of his more extreme measures passed through Congress simply because Congress isn't like him, but at the same time Congress would have to clean up their acts a bit if they wanted to avoid getting vetoed on a majority of their bills. Second I think his foreign policy would probably go over well with the international community, even if it isn't the best policy in the world... well, at least until some crisis happens and people around the world demand we get involved, lol.
