California isn’t trending right that much, just more or less maxed out for Democrats at the moment. I fully expect us to continue hovering at or slightly above 60% Dem for the foreseeable.

California might also have signs of Dems either fully or partially kaxing out the state. The Bay Area can't become much bluer without Assad margins. The Central Valley is too statistically insignificant to make a dent and the greater Los Angeles area has hit a critical mass.

This is like saying Texas is trending D, but it is 2004(the GOP was maxed out back then). That GOP could win major Texas cities with ease.
