For all that are interested, I would like to start a Libertarian Party for the fantasy elections. I will post our platform soon, although it will be following the platform at http://lp.org/ pretty closely.

Speak up if your interested.

Best of luck to you, we've talked before and you and I have agreed on some issues, I hope to work together at a later time.

If the platform is good I'll consider joining. Is the forum Libertarian party going to have a definitive stance on abortion?

First thing you need to do is change your registration to Libertarian in the register thread.  If you say that's your party, then that's your party.  Smiley

Yes. It will be based on natural born rights. I should have the platform published in this thread by tomorrow around noon.

The best thing you can do, until your post count is high enough to vote, is go around the forum and interact with other people. After your post count is 18 (which you almost have) or higher, come contact me, email, AIM, or pm, or post. I'm working on getting a few projects together for here.

Thank you for your offer of help.

Before everyone goes to bed I thought I should drop a quick note off. I'm not done with the platform yet (big surprise) but here's a teaser: the preamble.

I'm still working on it, and will probably be doing so until I pass out tonight. Goodnight everyone.

Good platform, I used to be libertarian and still has a soft spot for you people...

"Frihet är det bästa ting, där sökas kan i världen omkring" ("Freedom is the greatest thing, that can be searched for in the world")

"The Freedom song", the fight song of the Swedish rebel movement in the 1430s. Smiley

Watching these developments with great interest.  Good luck!

Unlike the real LP, I hope this one might make room for moderates who might not want to abolish the Post Office or CDC...maybe even tolerate a "center wing" who can spend pragmatically today in order to reduce wasted spending tomorrow...give a place for pro-choice Republicans to call home.

If you want a more centrist Libertarian party check us out at the UAC (United Atlas Centrists), we are socially centre-left and economically centre-right.

I did indeed scope y'all out when I got my feet wet in here.  Your positions were very agreeable, imo---except for abolishing the Supreme Court part!  lol

I'm very much attracted to the constitution's wise reliance on checks and balances, and still a govt. by the people, rather than pin all the responsibility on thunderbolts from god to resolve the tough calls (and make him/herself a focus of out-of-game resentment.)  An in-game Court makes the whole Fantasy Politics much more attractive to a wider audience--and much more self-regulating for the poor GM.
