Poll: Bush gains, Kerry slips in Maine
Thursday, September 23, 2004, 2:52 PM
PORTLAND (AP) - A poll released Thursday shows Republican George W. Bush is gaining on Democrat John Kerry in the presidential race in Maine.
The poll by Critical insights put Kerry at 45 percent and Bush at 42 percent among likely voters. Ralph Nader had three percent and ten percent remained undecided. The poll had a margin of error of four percentage points.
The poll shows Kerry dropped five points and Bush gained three points since a Critical Insights poll last spring.
The new poll indicates Kerry has an edge on domestic issues but that Bush is viewed as stronger on Iraq, terrorism and homeland security.
The poll was based on telephone surveys of 600 people across Maine from September 10 through September 23.

10% undecided? Wow, big group. Could be anyone's gain at this point.
