The following are ward maps for the London-wide list vote from the 2008 elections. These are generally quite good reflections of the distribution of partisan votes because voters are voting for a party rather than a candidate, so factors like tactical voting and personal votes don't really come into effect (or at least not to the same extent as in the GLA constituency vote and even less so when compared with the mayoral vote).

I'm posting them in order of how vote share from highest to lowest, so first up are the Conservatives:

Overall percentage: 34.05%

Best ward: Knightsbridge and Belgravia, Westminster.

Did the Lib Dems or Greens win any wards? (It looks like the BNP did.) Someone probably posted a ward map by winner before, just curious to see it again.

Well, almost. They tell us a great deal about the distribution of partisan votes in an election in which Livingstone (for or against) was the main draw. Still very, very interesting though Smiley

Not so fast. Lots of people don't really understand the voting system, give the list vote to their second preference. Or just like two parties best, give the constituency vote to the one that might win the constituency, the other vote to the other (this one happens over here a lot, and keeps increasing, too... the tactical possibilities with this system of voting are actually rather limited, but that won't keep people from trying.)

Canning Town is where Alan Craig (a councillor there since 2002) is based. The CPA vote in Newham is very strange; a combination of the sort of white voters who might otherwise be attracted to the BNP (Craig loves to bash Muslims) and West African fundamentalist types.
