The statewide poll shows 43 percent support for Obama, 41 percent for McCain, 3 percent for independent candidate Ralph Nader and 1 percent for Libertarian candidate Bob Barr. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percent.

The poll, conducted from August 18-21, asked 600 voters statewide for their reponses. It was wrapped up before Obama's announcement of Delaware U.S. Sen. Joe Biden as his running mate.
