Poll Demographics
While Pataki has neither confirmed nor denied he plans to run against Gillibrand, our survey shows Gillibrand leading Pataki, 41%-38%, with 12% favoring "someone else" and 10% not sure. Pataki leads among independents, 48%-20%, and the New York City suburbs, 47%-32%. Gillibrand leads in both New York City (43%-32%) and Upstate New York (45%-36%.) Gillibrand has a 12-point lead among all women, but Pataki is ahead by one-point among married women

Those results come from a Zogby Interactive survey of 800 New York State likely voters conducted between March 19th and March 22nd and carries a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percentage points.
