The 1886 Statement of Vote has several misprints. Dunn's figure in Sacramento County has been corrected using the 11/10/1886 Sacramento Daily Record-Union. Furthermore, the figure given for Dunn in Stanislaus County is almost certainly wrong and the correct figure is 1,002 not 2,002; this is based off the total vote in the county in other statewide races and the votes received by other candidates on the Democratic ticket there. Additionally, the county figures for Fairbanks do not add up properly: Fairbanks' stated total is 4,921 but the county figures add up to 4,941. Finally, the scan of the Statement of Vote by the San Francisco Public Library folds over part of the Scattering figures. Per the 12/9/1886 San Jose Herald, the Scattering total is 169.
