The 2010 Michigan General Election was held on November 2nd of that year, alongside the corresponding midterm elections nationally.
Governor
In the gubernatorial election, businessman and Republican candidate Rick Snyder easily defeated the Democratic candidate, Lansing mayor Virg Bernero. Snyder's election was a gain for Republicans after eight years of Democratic control of the governor's office.
