Mono County, California
From AtlasWiki
Mono County is a county in eastern California, along the Nevada border.
In 2004, early results indicated that Mono County was a tie. However, a recount of votes by Republican election officials revealed that the winner was actually Democrat John F. Kerry. Apparently, in the original count, 7 Kerry ballots were discarded because of use of blue ink.
Along with neighboring Alpine County, Mono is one of several formerly ultra-Republican counties to have switched into the Democratic column in the 2004 Presidential election.
It is also the home of many famous ski resorts and natural environments.
