Jake Matthews (Born Jacob Thomas Matthews on September 14th 1996 in Newark, New Jersey) is a candidate for Northeast Assembly for the Populares Party as well as a frequent contibutor to the forum.

Northeast Assembly Campaign

Jake orginially announced that he would seek the Governorship of the Northeast, but after convincing from various leaders of the Populares Party, he decided to seek a spot in the Assembly instead. Jake made the official announcement on January 21st 2011.

Jake began to launch a series of threads containing polls, speeches and numerous other activities to attempt to gauge citizen interest. After an explaination from Polnut, Jake continued to post in one thread.

Criticism

Jake has come under fire from some, claiming that he may be a troll of some sort. Jake has vehemently denied this charge. While the claims are still being presented, others have found that Jake is not a troll, by checking his IP to see that he is in fact located in New Jersey, as he originally claimed.

Support

Jake has garnered much support for being an enthusiastic candidate with new ideas for the Northeast. Jake once joked "Hell, if people didn't know me better, they'd think I was the second coming."

Trip To Nyman

After the Global Trade Organization Building was bombed, Jake announced he would be traveling to Nyman to meet with the families of the victims. Jake stayed in Nyman for a few days meeting with families and delivering condolences. While in Nyman, Jake found out that his Assistant Public Relations Manager, Mitchell Devereaux, was injured in the attack. Jake claims that he has met with Mitch and has said that Mitch could return to work by mid-February. Jake released a statement today with a letter from Mitch to his supporters reading:

"Friends,

As most of you may know, I was injured in the recent GTO Bombing. I can say that the experience is one that I'd like to forget, but it will most certainly stick around with me. I thank all of you for your well-wishes, greeting cards and other generous gifts, they have really helped me. I am a bit of a workaholic, so I have been still arranging PR projects for Jake's campaign in an attempt to help this fine man get elected to the Assembly so he can help improve a nation that he cares about so dearly. I hope to see all of you on the bus tour when I return!

Future

Jake has hinted that he would like to one day run for President, saying in an interview with a Trenton newspaper on January 30th "Yeah...(running for President) would be a really fun experience, I think I could do it, but certainly not in the near future."
